The Story Behind Tejaprana Bisma
A masterpiece of serene spaces immersed in Balinese culture.
Tejaprana Bisma stands as a masterpiece created by the award-winning firm Arte Architect & Associates. Located in Ubud, a brief walk away from its fabulous boutiques and the fabled Monkey Forest, the resort is nestled amid the lush Campuhan river valley.
Designed for those seeking a tranquil escape, it offers elegant villas, private pools, and a profound connection to nature. The rooms are praised for their spaciousness, modern design, and authentic Balinese architecture.
More than just a retreat, Tejaprana Bisma is a serene sanctuary in the heart of Bali. The owners built it with a simple belief: that hospitality is felt, not performed.

The Collaboration
Five days. One luxurious river valley resort. The feeling of arriving somewhere that feels like home.
I arrived at Tejaprana Bisma with no shot list and no agenda beyond one thing: capture the feeling of being there. The lush jungle of the Campuhan river valley. The stillness of the private villas. The connection to Balinese culture and architecture.
Over five days, I moved through the space at its own pace. I didn't stage moments — I waited for them. And Tejaprana Bisma, being the masterpiece it is, gave me plenty to work with.
The Challenge
Translating the luxurious serenity of a river valley resort into visual stories.
Tejaprana Bisma isn't about fast-paced tourism; it's about tranquil elegance and Balinese architecture in Ubud, Bali. The challenge was to communicate this profound serenity without making it feel empty. It required a low-footprint, intimate approach to blend seamlessly into the environment—capturing the authentic texture of the villas and the lush jungle without disrupting the peace of the resort.

The Solution
A solo expedition to capture the resort's true rhythm
Shooting solo allowed me to move at the pace of the resort. Early mornings with the valley mist and the light. Afternoons by the private pools when the tropical air made everything slow. Evenings where the jungle turned golden. No rushing, no forcing. Just presence, patience, and a camera — resulting in 29+ photographs that feel exactly like being there.
